Shanica Pompey, MD

Dr. Shanica Pompey was born on the south side of Chicago, IL. At the age of 5, she and her family moved to Dallas, and she been here ever since. She is a proud alumni of the Booker T. High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she studied the Visual Arts. However, she has always had a love for health and science and changed her focus to medicine when her mother had a life threatening health emergency. She then completed her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Dallas where she majored in Biology and Business Administration.

After working for a few years as a research assistant, she attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she was the recipient of the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly Award. After falling in love with Obstetrics and Gynecology early during her clinical clerkships, she then completed her residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she served as Chief Administrative Resident during her final year.

Dr. Pompey has a passion for serving others and providing care to women of all ages and throughout every stage of life. She also enjoys providing community education and mentoring students who share her passion for the art of medicine.

Dr. Pompey and her husband live in Dallas, TX with their beloved Shiba Inu, “Yuna”.
