As a healthcare team, we see the horrific effects of racism in our hospitals and community every day. As women’s healthcare providers, we are acutely aware that minority women, and black women in particular, statistically suffer unacceptably poor maternal health outcomes in the US. Our mission as a practice has always been to provide quality, compassionate care for all of our patients regardless of race, religion, or other status. We have no tolerance for discrimination on any level.
The lives of our black families, friends, colleagues, and patients matter. It takes courage and leadership to start the conversation and stand up for what is right, and we commend those who are fighting for accountability in law enforcement. We need caring leadership now more than ever.
We encourage each of you to register and VOTE. https://www.votetexas.gov/register-to-vote/. The deadline for voting in the July 14, 2020 primary is June 15, 2020. Stay safe, stay strong, and stay together.”
