I love making a list of activities for each season. Not only does it force you to get out a little more, it makes you think about why you love each season differently. Fall has to be one of the most well-liked seasons. The air is clean and crisp, the foliage is bursting with colors and the cooler temperatures paired with the shining sun just can’t be beat!
What are your favorite fall activities? Here are some ideas to get your bucket list started before the season officially starts:
- Check out the Texas State Fair running through October and enjoy all kinds of delicious foods, especially the fried goodies!
- Apple Picking is a must, especially at the Henrietta Creek Apple Orchard in Roanoke. Apples just taste better when you pick them yourself!
- Visit Main Stay Farm and pick a pumpkin or enjoy an ice cream float.
- Buy something pumpkin scented, like a candle or potpourri mix. The smell will get you in the mood for fall.
- Switch up your daily coffee routine and buy a pumpkin latte or cinnamon flavored coffee.
- Check out the annual Plano Balloon Festival!
- Take a weekend trip or even a day trip to check out a small town.
- How about visiting a haunted house?
- Throw a fall themed themed party for friends and neighbors.
- Try a new recipe for an apple pie, a cobbler, chili or pot pie!
- Football! It’s Football season. Have friends over to watch a game or attend a high school football game in your neighborhood.
- Walk! This is the best time of year to walk. Start a morning or early evening routine to get your steps in.
- Clean out your closets. Weed out some of those old, lightweight jackets and maybe invest in one really nice one.
- Pumpkin picking! This is one of the best fall activities. Find a patch nearby and pick out the perfect gourd.
- Pumpkin carving. Invite some neighbors over to carve pumpkins and eat the fresh pumpkin seeds. Just rinse and add a little salt. Bake them and enjoy!
Fall is chock full of wonderful things to do. Think of some new traditions to start with your family or neighborhood.
Most importantly, enjoy the metamorphosis of your surroundings. Nature is truly amazing!
Happy Fall!
